Lester trained at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, and now works at South Manchester University and Christie Hospitals, and BUPA Hospital Manchester.

He specialises in the treatment of breast cancer, and in breast reconstruction. He also runs a special clinic for rare soft tissue tumours and sarcoma.

Lester is chairman of the Genesis Appeal, and leads the project to create Europe's first purpose-built Breast Cancer Prevention Centre. The team that Lester helps to lead is convinced that prevention and early diagnosis are the way forward for the next generation in the fight against breast cancer.
